Ayr Renaissance has been awarded funding from the Coastal Community Fund to create a new Heritage Trail for Ayr.
The motivation is to promote feelings of pride and ownership of the towns heritable assets and create a tangible sense of Ayr’s important part in Scotland’s rich history.
We propose to create six listening stations in key historic areas in the town centre, giving a multi-sensory journey back in time.
To accompany the trail project Ayr Renaissance is undertaking a number of associated events throughout 2016.
Next up are two talks being held for Book Week Scotland on Saturday 26 November 2016 at the Carnegie Library in Ayr. The first talk at 2pm is by prize-winning children's author Janice Mackay, and the second at 6pm by Rab Houston, Professor of Modern History at the University of St Andrews.
